Obituary of Marion Elizabeth Clark

101 years young and still eating her ice cream, Marion Elizabeth “Betty” Clark of East Haven, passed away peacefully at the Guilford House on June 13, 2017. She was born November 19, 1915 in New Haven, CT, to Walter and Edith (Bland) Beach. Marion is survived by her four children, Barbara Voelker (Hunt) of East Hampton, Marion Edith Clark of East Haven, Clifford Clark (Pam) of Milford, and Judy Peterson (Craig) of Middletown, along with 13 grandchildren, Martin Voelker (Pat), Gregory Voelker (Chris), Wendy DeWolfe (David), Pamela Faber (Roger), Betty Ann Frost (Michael), Debbie Castor (Darrell), Michael Clark, Linda Longobardi (Frank), Marie Dontigney (Joe), David Clark (Kathleen), Kim Stockard (Josh), Stacey Rosanno (Bryan), Jennifer Kostas (Andrew). She is also survived by many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Marion is preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold M. Clark, Sr. (1971), son Harold M. Clark, Jr, and her siblings Dorothy Piergrossi, Lillian Copperthithe, Edith Leaman, Joan Mitchell, and three very close friends, Catherine Knapp, Hattie Douglas and Alice “Mac” McMullen. Marion was a former employee of A.C. Gilbert’s, Sargent’s, Edel’s and Premier Fabrics. She loved to travel; destinations included Alaska, Hawaii, Jordan, Egypt, Israel, the Mediterranean, Australia, Tahiti, Fiji, and New Zealand. She was always ready for an adventure, loved to take long rides, bowling, having family get-togethers, dancing, scrabble, and word puzzles. Family will receive friends on Friday, June 16, 2017, from 4 PM to 7 PM in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, CT. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 17 at 9:30 AM in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home with burial to follow at East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven.
