Obituary of Ruth Black

Ruth Black 90, of New Haven and East Haven passed away on October 1, 2017 at Apple Rehab. She was born on September 4, 1927 to Bertrand and Dorothy (Bohenkamp) Boyle. Ruth is survived by her three loving children Linda Letterman (Scott) of Newport Beach CA, Becky O’Neill (Larry) of Jackman, Maine, and Robert Black of East Haven along with six grandchildren. Ruth is also survived by her siblings Bertrand Boyle (Joan) of Wallingford, Barbara Lawson (Tom) of Huntington, CT, and William Boyle (Linda) of Hamden, CT. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Roberta Knofler and brother David Boyle. Ruth was a retired employee of the Distribution Assoc. of North Haven where she assisted the FBI in identifying bank robbers. Her sprit and strength were her trade marks. Ruth thought outside the box before the term became fashionable. A true friend and a loving mother she will be missed. Family will receive friends on Wednesday October 4, 2017 from 4 PM until the time of service at 6 PM in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home) 43 Kirkham Ave, East Haven. Burial will be private.
