Gladys Lopez 79 of East Haven passed away peacefully at her home on November 30, 2017. She was born July 24, 1938 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic to Manuel “Lico” and Gertrude (Lee) Frometa. Gladys is survived by her four loving children, Alma Lopez of East Haven, Maximo Lopez Jr. (widow of Dawn Glasso) North Branford, Diane Lopez-Morgillo (Joseph) of East Haven and Sallyann Lopez of Peabody, MA. Gladys is also survived by two grandchildren, Alia Lumpkin and Meredith Devaney-Wagner (Greg) and one great granddaughter, Danika Wagner. Gladys is a sister of Olga “Lili” Frometa of Chicago, Joe Frometa of Dominican Republic and Margarita Frometa of Dominican Republic. Gladys is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Manuel Frometa and a sister, Virginia Frometa-DelHomme.
Known for her special humor, and candor, Gladys loved spending time with her family, and was a beacon, in times of trouble. Gladys will be dearly missed.
Family will receive friends from 5 PM until the time of service at 7 PM on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Burial will be private. Donations may be made to CT Hospice of Branford, 100 double Beach Rd. Branford CT 06405 in memory of Gladys Lopez.
