Rosemary “Rosie” Douglas 78 of East Haven passed away December 3, 2017 at the Masonicare in Wallingford. She was born June 19, 1939 in New Haven to Angelo and Raphael (Longobardi) Ferrari. Rosie is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Edwin Douglas and her three children; Richard Famiglietti Jr. of East Haven, Joseph Famiglietti (Emily) of North Branford, Kim Crisco (Kevin) of East Haven. Rosemary is also survived by six grandchildren; Kristen Famiglietti, Joe Famiglietti, Taylor Crisco, Nico Famiglietti, Gabriela Famiglietti and Talon Crisco and a brother, Richard Ferrari Sr. of Florida. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Emilio Ondusko. Rosie was a housewife and mother to 2 sons & 1 daughter whom she raised with ex-husband Richard Famiglietti Sr., for 27 years. After which she married Edwin Douglas who stood by her during her final days. Rosie was tiny. Tiny but mighty with her independent spirit, outgoing personality and loving heart she was strict but loving mother who will do anything for her kids. She was supportive and told you like it is. Rosie cherished her 6 grandchildren and proud of them all. Rosie’s door was always open to welcome friends, family & neighborhood kids. When you popped in, coffee went on the stove. On Sundays the smell of tomato & meat sauce and baked ziti warmed the house. Rosie was famous for her sauce, which we will miss on holidays and Sundays. Rosie was tiny and mighty. She battled cancer and fought like no other. When we heard the bad news, Mighty Tiny Rosie hung in tooth & nail at her home on her terms. With the love and care she received from her husband Edwin, Rosie toughed it out so she can be with her family, friends and most of all kids & grandkids for as long as possible. Mommy WE LOVE YOU! Thank you for fighting so hard, thank you for loving us, and thank you for being our mom! Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 4 PM until the time of service at 7 PM in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. A graveside service will be held two days later on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 10:30 AM in All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Ave., North Haven (Please meet at the office).
