Michael T. Waselik (Waddy), 52, of East Haven, a loving father, son, and brother died on December 28, 2017, at home. He was born on September 15, 1965 in New Haven, the son of John T. Waselik of East Haven, and the late Rosemary Lynch Waselik. In addition to his father he is survived by his sons, Michael J., Jr. of East Haven, Nicholas of East Haven, and Corey of East Haven; sister Johnna Sarno (Michael) of East Haven, brother Christopher of East Haven; and two aunts Marion Piggott (William) of Madison, Patricia Formichella (Lawrence) of North Carolina and a uncle Robert Waselik (Joanne) of Torrington, many cousins and former wife Maria Avallone. Michael graduated from East Haven High School, where he was an outstanding baseball player, Captain of the team, and all league first baseball. He also played baseball while at Housatonic Community College. Michael was a lifelong sports fan and his favorite teams were the Boston Red Sox and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Michael loved to attend the baseball and football games his boys played while they were in East Haven High School. He enjoyed going to the casino with his father and working in his father’s garden. He also was a MVP at East Shore Babe Ruth. Michael worked at Minore's and Brooke Witter in New Haven. The Waselik family will like to give a special thanks to Dr. Deborah Proctor for her outstanding compassionate care and attentiveness given to him during his illness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 9AM in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 80 Taylor Ave., East Haven. There are no calling hours. Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, East Haven is handling arrangements.
