Frank Bontempo 53 of Woodbridge and North Haven passed away August 14, 2021 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born May 3, 1968 in New Haven to John and Mabel (Slater) Bontempo. Frank is survived by his two children, Gina Bontempo of Branford and Frank Bontempo of Orange along with two granddaughters, Angelina Bontempo and Isabella Bontempo. Frank is also survived by his step-daughter, Alissa Ferraro of Naugatuck, his siblings, Hazel Caruso (Joseph) of New Haven, Ralph Bontempo (Lisa) of New Haven, Ann Bontempo (David) of Branford and Cathy Giordano (Pat) of Hamden and many nieces/nephews. Frank is preceded in death by his parents, companion, Penny Ferraro and brothers, Michael Bontempo, and John Bontempo. Frank Bontempo will be missed by many, he was charismatic and charming, and knew how to make everyone around him laugh. He was an avid motorcyclist. He enjoyed gardening, and spending time with his beloved pups. Frank really enjoyed the feeling of the sun, especially at the beach, where he liked to go clamming and fishing with his kids. His favorite watering hole was the Windjammer, in Westerly, RI. Before coming ill Frank was a truck driver. Along with his devoted family he leaves behind long time best friend Tommy Lombardi and many dear friends who have helped him and his children through challenging times. He was loved by many. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Franks honor to Save the Sound, or Habitat for Humanity of greater New Haven. Family will receive friends on Monday, August 23, 2021 from 5 P.M. until the time of service at 7 P.M. in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Burial will be private.
