Sisenando “Sonny” Sansano, 82, of Hamden passed away peacefully at home on June 23, 2022. Sonny was born January 3, 1940, in the Philippines to Gabriel and Florencia Sansano. Sonny is survived by his loving granddaughter, Melissa Sansano of Hamden, great-grandson, Israel O’Neal, nephew, Dr. Rudy Fernandez of Florida, niece, Maria Anderson of East Haven, and a host of other family and friends. Sonny is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth, and daughter, Faith, as well as his siblings Felicidad, Guadencio, and Lydia. Sonny received his Bachelor of Health Science degree from the University of Missouri and was employed by Yale New Haven Hospital for 35 years as a Medical Laboratory Technologist. Perpetually selfless until his last day, he spent much of his retirement helping his family, friends, and community, and was endearingly referred to as “Pop” by those who knew and loved him. In his free time, he enjoyed activities offered by his retirement community – from weekly karaoke to belting out Sinatra classics at the annual talent show to simply enjoying a holiday-themed luncheon, he made sure to be a part of it all. Mild-mannered and incredibly kind, his loss will be felt for years to come. Services will be held at a later date and are in the care of Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home) 43 Kirkham Ave, East Haven.
