Margaret F. Murphy Carr, 92, wife of the late James F. Carr, formerly of 31 Roy St., East Haven died Sunday, July 6,2008 at the Watrous Nursing Center, Madisn. Mother of James Carr and wife Doris of Madison, John Carr and wife Elaine of Branford and Joseph Carr of New Haven. Grandmother of James R. Carr of East Haven, Christopher J. Carr of West Haven and Jennifer A. Hart and husband Scott of Old Saybrook. Greatgrandmother of Jessica, Kristin, Brandi, Xanthia and Sabastion. Also survived by her dear friend David Dailey of New Haven.
Born May 21,1916 in New Haven, daughter of the late Walter J and Margaret Malloy Murphy, she was a graduate of the former Commercial High School in New Haven. Margaret was a devout Catholic and member of the New Haven Council of Catholic Women.
Funeral from Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, Tuesday morning at 11:00. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Vincent de Paul Church at 11:30. Burial will be private. Friends may call Tuesday morning prior to the Mass from 10:00-11:00. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may made to the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT 06111.
