In East Haven, Sept.30, 2008, Robert E. Sisson, 76, of Thompson Ave., East Haven. Beloved husband of Marilyn Bittner Sisson. Father of Linda Sisson of New haven, Patricia (John) Prata of PA and Robert (Ester) Sisson of HI. Brother of Frederick Sisson of NC, Noel Sisson of Fl., and the late Donald Sisson. Also survived by seven grandchildren, a great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Born January 13, 1932 in New Haven a son of the late Frederick and Olga Wislocki Sisson, he was a graduate of HIllhouse High School class of 1949, served for two years with the US Army, and then was employed as a police officer with the City of New Haven for twenty three years, retiring with the rank of sergeant. He then worked as an investigator for the State of CT Public Defenders Office. Robert was a member and past president of the Police Anchor Club, a life member of Fr. Reagan Council #3300, Knights of Columbus, a member of the BPOE in New Haven, the American Legion and the International Police Assoc. Funeral from the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, Saturday morning at 11:00. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Vincent de Paul Church at 11:30. Burial with military honors will follow in East Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Residents Council at Talmadge Park Nursing Home ( for the benefit of residents) 38 Talmadge Ave., East Haven, CT 06512
