Obituary of Thomas F. Walker

Thomas F. Walker Jr. 73, of Wildwood Dr., East Haven passed away peacefully Nov. 11, 2008 surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted father of Thomas F. Walker III of Branford, Alice Scialla of East Haven, Sheila (Paul) Smith of East Haven and Maureen ( John) Dendas of Branford. Cherished grandfather of Lindsey Walker, Thomas F. Walker IV, Joseph Scialla, Jessica Scialla, PJ Smith, Emily Smith, Sean Dendas, Brandon Dendas and Cailin Dendas. He was predeceased by a sister Evelyn Tiedemann. Born May 22, 1935 in New Haven, a son of the late Thomas F. and Mary Geenty Walker Sr., he served with the US Navy during the Korean War and was employed for 39 years by the New Haven Register as a printer and machinist. After retirement Tom enjoyed helping customers find treasures at "Traders". He was also fond of gardening, antiquing, fishing and cooking large meals for his family, but his greatest pride in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren whom he adored. Funeral from Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, Saturday morning at 8:30. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 9:00.
