In Wallingford, Dec.16,2008, Martin J.(Marty) Tynan Jr., 87 of Green Glen Terrace, East Haven. Beloved husband of Catherine Neville Tynan. Father of Kathleen (Mark) McKiernan of Wallingford, Cheryl (Jay) Johns of Branford and the late Diane Marino and Dennis Tynan. Grandfather of Jennifer Suraci, Hunter Wogahn and Anita Marino. Brother of Elizabeth Stockmal of Seymour. Born September 22, 1921 in Derby a son of the late Martin J. and Elizabeth Paradine Tynan Sr., he was a graduate of Ansonia High School and served with the US Navy during WW2 as a radioman stationed in China with the Sacco division. Following his military service he was employed by Security Insurance Co., Conn. Medical Service and then for twenty nine years by Blue Cross-Blue Shield, retiring as a claims manager. Marty was also a dance instructor for Arthur Murray Dance Studio in New Haven and was well known for his sense of humor and quick wit. Funeral from the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, Saturday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial in St.Vincent de Paul Church at 10:00. Burial with military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday morning from 8:30-9:30. Marty’s family would like to extend a grateful thank you to all the staff at the acute care unit at the Masonic Health Care Center for the kind and supportive care given to him during his stay there.
