In Hospice, December 18,2008, after a long illness with diabetes, Richard j. Giardina of State St., North Haven, husband of Laurie Burton Giardina and father of Brett R. Giardina and Bethanie R. Giardina both of Wallingford, brother of Vivian Vestuti of East Haven. Mr. Giardina was born in Mt. Kisco, N.Y., December 2, 1934, son of the late Mateo and Angela Tamantano Giardina. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. 82nd Airborne Paratroopers.
Funeral services will be held privately with Interment in East Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Assoc., 306 Industrial Park Rd. Middletown, CT 06457
