Carmel Cifarelli Bousquest, 86, lifelong resident of East Haven passed away peacefully on January 4, 2009. She was married to the late Roger Harold Bousquet. Carmel was the daughter of the late John and Lucy Crocco Cifarelli. During WWII she was employed by the Winchester Fire Arms, Army Ordinance Division. Later, Carmel worked alongside her husband as proprietors of Bousquet’s Service Center. She belonged to the New Haven Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW. She was a CT Notary Public. As a lifelong communicant of Our Lady of Pompeii Church she was a member of the Ladies Guild. Carmel was a recipient of the Rotary International Paul Harris Award. Most of all Carmel took pleasure from the company of her family and friends. She encouraged those around her to accomplish their dreams and she applauded their success. Carmel is survived by her children, Evelyn(Joseph) Barese, Roger(Kathie) Bousquet, Annmarie (Joseph) Brignola, Rose(Charles)Mason and Evyonne(Henry)Yazdzik, 12 Grandchildren, Paige(Brian)LaBelle, Joseph Barese, Trevor Barese, Tricinda Bousquet, Michelle Bellows, Michael(Rebecca) Brignola, Diane(Tim)Smith, Heather(Mark)Dion, Christine(Michael) Gerardi,Kelley Mason, Ryan and Sasha Yazdzik, Michelle(Roland)Pietsch, great grandchildren Olivia, Isabelle, Zachary, Sophia Labelle, Jeffery Bellows, Jason and Tyler Smith, Colin Dion, Brianna Gerardi, Connor Pietsch. She is also survived by brothers Ralph and Noah Cifarelli. She was predeceased by a daughter Linda Bousquet and her sisters Mary Apuzzo, Anna Serio, Concetta Melillo, Annette Franco, Vera Fedora, Emma Palo, Evelyn Pesce, and her brothers, Angelo, Adolph and Emile Cifarelli. Funeral from the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, Thursday morning at 10 o’clock. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 10:30. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-8pm. Interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
