In Branford, January 4, 2009, George A. Lemieux, 73 of Milton St., New Haven. Husband of Nancy Toplinsky Lemieux. Father of George A. (Erin) Lemieux of Durham, Corinne (Jim) Fitting of Andover, CT and Dawn (Pasquale) Marcucci of North ford. Brother of Armand Lemieux of Hamden and Dianne Hawes of Middlefield. Also survived by seven grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife Gisele Laroche Lemieux and a brother Robert Lemieux. Born July 13, 1935 in new Haven a son of the late Armand A. and Rita B. Bouffard Lemieux, he served for twenty years with the US Air Force, retiring with the rank of Senior Master Sargent. He then worked for the Connecticut Savings Bank for eighteen years and then ADP. George was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church in East Haven where he was a Eucharistic minister. An avid birder, he was a member of the Menunkatuck Birding Club, the Ct. Audubon Society, the Nature Conservatory, the Sleeping Giant Park Assoc., the National Wildlife Federation and the New Haven Bird Club. He was also a member of the American Legion. Funeral from the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, Friday morning at 10:30. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Vincent de Paul Church at 11:00. Burial will follow with military honors in all Saints Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach, Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
