In Branford, Jan. 5,2009, John W. DeFilippo, 88 , of McKinley Ave, East Haven. Husband of the late Eleanor Patience DeFilippo. Father of Joseph ( Cathy) DeFilippo of Branford and John W. ( Kristen) DeFilippo of Wallingford. Grandfather of Jaclyn, Joseph, Norma and Olivia DeFilippo. Brother of Edith Accabo of East Haven , Kate Miller of New Haven and the late James Defilippo, Adeline Monaco, Emelio DeFilippo, , Rose Guarino, Fred DeFilippo, and Annette Citerella. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Born Nov. 13,1920 in East Haven a son of the late Joseph and Caroline Biancini DeFilippo, he served with the US Army during WWII and was the founder and owner of Dee’s Roofing in East Haven, working right up until the time of his death.
Funeral from the Clancy Funeral home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, Saturday morning at 8:30. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Vincent de Paul Church at 9:00. Burial with military honors will follow in East Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Friday 4 – 8 pm.
