In New Haven September 26, 2009 Eleanor (Padzinski) Collopy 80, of Thimble Island Rd.
Stony Creek. Wife of the late James E. Collopy. Loving mother of James J. Collopy and his
companion Dawn Hoydilla of Stony Creek, sister of Richard Padzinski of Tennessee. Also
survived by her 2 cherished grandchildren Tracy Lee Collopy and James H. Collopy both of
Branford and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a son Michael J. Collopy, a brother
Edward Padzinski and a sister Marion Gumkowski. Eleanor was born in Branford October 11,
1928 daughter of the late Julius and Phillice (Rutkowski) Padzinski. She was a 1946 graduate of
Branford High School. Mrs. Collopy worked at her husband's business James E. Collopy and Son
Plumbing and Heating as a bookkeeper. She loved quilting, her cat, boating, fishing and
clamming and was a lifelong resident of Stony Creek.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 am in St. Therese Church, Stony
Creek. (Friends are asked to go directly to church). Burial in St. Agnes Cemetery. Friends may
call Wednesday from 4 - 8 pm in Clancy Funeral Home 43 Kirkham Ave. East Haven. In lieu of
flowers contributions to Rescue Co. #5, 45 North Main St. Branford, 06405.
