Obituary of Frances W. Bailey

In West Haven V.A.Hospital, Nov. 6, 2009, Frances Wetherbee Bailey, 86, of Pleasant
Ave., East Haven. Wife of the late Claude E. Bailey Sr. Beloved mother of Susan
Bailey of Clinton, Claudia ( Andrew) Carangelo of East Haven, Frank W. Bailey and
fiancée Tammy Mahon of East Haven and the late Claude Bailey Jr. Sister of Ruth
Hansell of North Haven and the late Ann Wetherbee, Janet Felsted and Frank Wetherbee.
Also survived by six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces
and nephews. She was also predeceased by a grandson David Carangelo. Born Nov. 8,1922
in New Haven a daughter of the late Frank and Emily Miller Wetherbee, she was a
graduate of East Haven High School, class of 1940 and had been employed for a time
by the former W.T. Grant Dept. Store in Hamden. She had served with the US Navy during
WW2 and was a member of the WAVES.
Funeral service will be held Friday morning at 11:00 in the Clancy Funeral Home,
43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Burial with military honors will follow in East Lawn
Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 5 - 7 pm.
