In New Haven, Dec 12, 2009, Ruth R. Hartman McCarthy, 88, of Glenmore DR., East
Haven. Wife of the late Charles J, McCarthy. Mother of Kathleen Henthorn of
Southbury, Joanne McCarthy of East Haven, Dennis McCarthy of Southbury and the late
Jean McCarthy and Mary McCarthy. Grandmother of James Daley Jr., Dawn McCarthy,
Tammy Henthorn and Anais Berland. Great grandmother of Gabrielle Dalila Daley.
Sister of Harry Hartman of LA, Pat King of LA, Mildred Chandler of IL and Lillian
Currie of IL. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Born June 3, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY a daughter of the late Albert and Agnes T.Finer Hartman she graduated
from Monticello High School in Monticello, NY and later graduated from the Art Student
League in NYC. She had been employed as a bookkeeper for many years with several area
companies. Ruth was a member of Our Lady of Pompeii Church in East Haven, the New Haven
Mineral Club and was a proud member of TOPS.
Funeral from the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, Tuesday morning at
9:00. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 9:30. Burial will
follow in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 5 - 7 pm.
