Obituary of Marie R. Grottole

In CT. Hospice December 25, 2009 Marie R. Petruzzelli Grottole 88, of Beacon Ave. New Haven. Wife of the late Eugene Grottole. Loving mother of Valerie Arnone of Ansonia and Jean Esposito of Branford. Also survived by her cherished grandchildren David, Daniel and Coral Petrelle, Crystal Sacco, Julie and Joseph Arnone and Toni Ann Sowitcki, six great grandchildren and her special friend Gordon Fowler. She was predeceased by a brother Vito Petruzzelli and her sister Leonore Syberg. Marie was born in New Haven June 18, 1921 daughter of the late Leonardo and Carmela (Raiola) Petruzzelli. She was a graduate of Commercial High School and attended Stone College. Prior to her retirement she was a office manager for the St. Raphael Foundation and was a secretary for G. Harold Welch. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church Funeral from Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven Tuesday at 9:30am. Mass of Christian burial at 10 am in St. Vincent de Paul Church. Burial will be private. Friends may call Tuesday from 8:30 – 9:30am.
