Obituary of Margaret Gillo Stewart

In New Haven, Sept. 16,2010, Margaret Gillo Stewart, 95, of 21 Eastern St.,( Bella Vista ) New Haven. Wife of the late John Stewart. Sister of the late Joseph Gillo, Frank Gillo, Eleanor Sudock Karjanis and Julia Gillo. Survived by several nieces and nephews including her most favorite nephew Richard Sudock and wife Rosemarie Albanese - Sudock and her great nephews Richard Sudock and wife Robin, Mark Sudock and Robert Sudock. Born Feb. 9,1915 in New Haven a daughter of the late Anthony and Christina Profetta Gillo, she was a graduate of the former Commercial High School in New Haven and served with the US Army during WW2 as a dental lab assistant and hygenist. She had been employed as a restaurant manager for several restaurants in FL and later was dining room manager for the Monteray Country Club ( now Pebble Beach ) in CA until her retirement. While living at the Bella Vista Senior Housing complex she was very active in all of the clubs and activities there. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning at 9:00 in St. Vincent de Paul Church, East Haven. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery . There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 8245Brook St., I-91 Tech Ctr., Rocky Hill, CT 06067. Arrangements are with the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven.
