Obituary of Janet Moscato

Please share a memory of Janet to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Janet Moscato, 62 of East Haven, embraced her late son on March 19, 2018 in Albany, NY. She was born August 9, 1955 in New Haven to Richard Henry Sr. and Barbara (Petersen) Henry Wynne. Janet is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Anthony Moscato and two daughters, Tina Al-Amoody (Fuad) of Rexford, NY and Theresa Moscato of East Haven along with two grandchildren, who she adored, Saleem and Lyla Al-Amoody. Janet is also survived by four siblings Debbie Morgan (Bill) of SC, Richard Henry Jr. (Kimberly) of OK, Mary Monico (Prisco) of East Haven, Chip Henry (Leslie) of Las Vegas, numerous nieces/nephews and step-sisters, Tracy Madigan and Kim Carmona. She is preceded in death by her parents, step-father Edward Wynne, and son, Anthony Moscato Jr. (2002).

Janet had an uncanny zest for life. Her family was her top priority. Her favorite job was being a stay at home Mom and later in life a Nana. Janet held positions at Echlins in Branford, First Bank, Momauguin Elementary School as a lunch-mother and crossing guard and most recently retired from her position as a secretary at Joseph Melillo Middle School. She was an active lifetime member of the Bradford Manor Hose Co. 4 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed working on her family ancestry as a member of the CT Society of Genealogists. While her children attended school she was very active in the Momauguin PTO. She was instrumental in establishing the Anthony Moscato Jr. Scholarship Fund. She also loved traveling with her husband to her home in Vermont, and to see her grandchildren in Oregon and most recently New York. She took many wonderful trips with her family and recently began to enjoy travel with her husband and their friends. If you knew Janet, you knew her contagious belly laugh, her intense love of snow, the way she could project her voice at a party, her jolly Christmas spirit, and her knack for anginette and gingerbread baking. Above all you knew her generous spirit for all of humankind.
