John Wilk 58, lifelong resident of East Haven passed away June 28, 2018 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born December 17, 1959 in New Haven to Joseph and Ilene (Skrinski) Wilk. John is survived by his mother, Ilene Wilk, loving wife of 32 years, Kim (Nelson) Wilk and a daughter, Laura Trujillo (Jose) of East Haven. John is also survived by his brother, Steven Wilk of East Haven, sister, Joanne Martin (John) of Fort Myers, FL, sister-in-laws, Debbie Sachse (Cheryl Mateus) of Kannoplis, NC and Marsha Davis (Wayne) of East Haven along with numerous nieces/nephews and great nieces/nephews.

John was a commercial fishing captain for many years before opening his own HVAC company: John’s Heating and Cooling. A member and past Commodore of the Waucoma Yacht Club for 35 years as well as a member of the Branford Gun Club. John’s favorite past times included fishing, gardening, NASCAR and he loved spending time with his friends and family. 

Family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. His funeral procession will leave Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home on Monday, July 2, 2018 at 10:40 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Taylor Ave, East Haven. Burial will be private.
