Joan Teti of New Haven passed away July 9, 2018 at Yale New Haven Hospital St Raphael Campus. She was born February 27, 1934 to the Frederick and Bridget (Rea) LaPenn. Joan is survived by her two loving sons, James Teti Jr. of New Haven and Frederick Teti of San Francisco along with a sister, Frieda Taupier (Raymond) of East Haven. She was predeceased by her parents and husband, James Teti (1991).

Joan was a graduate of New Haven State Teacher’s College (SCSU) in 1956 and taught in West Haven, New Haven and lastly in East Haven where she retired from in 1995. She was known for her generosity of spirit and fondness for her many students.

Family will receive friends from 2 – 5 PM on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home) 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 16 at 10 a.m. in St. Rita Catholic Church, 1620 Whitney Ave., Hamden (Please meet at the church) with committal to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. Donation may be made to PBS Channel 13 New York c/o Thirteen – Membership Dept., 825 Eigth Avenue, 14th Fl New York, NY 10019-7435 in memory of Joan Teti.
