Kathleen “Kate” Johnson Heermans, 93 of East Haven passed away December 22, 2018 at Apple Rehab in Guilford. She was born September 13, 1925 in Philadelphia to John and Kathryn (Mariner) Moran. Kate is survived by her four loving children, Kathleen Ordonez, Fort Gratiot, MI, James Johnson Jr. (Kathleen) of Mondovi, WI, Mary Towler (Peyton) of Fort Gratiot, MI and Jerry Johnson (Pat) of Carmel, NY along with 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces/nephews. Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents, first husband, James Johnson (1979), second husband, Nile Heermans (2014) and brother, Jack Moran.

Kate was a very active member of the Christ Church Anglican Church upon her moving from New York to Connecticut. She enjoyed many community activities including supporting Teen Challenge. She was also an avid "Beach Goer" and also loved to travel. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.  

Family will receive friends from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave, East Haven. Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a Funeral Service on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Christ Church Anglican, 965 West Main Street, Branford. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Christ Church Anglican, 965 West Main Street, Branford CT 06405 in memory of Kathleen Johnson Heermans.
