William Robert Weyel Jr. 94, of New Haven, husband of the late Margaret E. (Varney) Weyel, passed away November 16, 2019 at the Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford. He was born on November 15, 1925 in New Haven to William and Annie (Weeden) Weyel. He is survived by his children William R. Weyel III (Vivian) of New Haven, Harold Weyel (Vicky) of New Haven, Richard Weyel of Branford, Jacqueline Coppola (Frank) of Guilford, Kenneth Weyel (Chris) of Arizona, and Brian Weyel of East Haven along with an twenty  grandchildren,  forty great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. William is also survived by his brother Richard “Dick” Weyel of East Haven, and sister, Betty Ueblacker of Hamden.  He is preceded in death by his wife, sisters, Eleanor Ueblacker, Helen Harte, Joan Shea, and brother, Russell Weyel Jr. along with two grandchildren.

William was a loving father and grandfather.  He worked at Yale University for many years until he retired.  He was a devoted husband and took care of his wife Margaret until her passing. He will be missed very much by all his family and friends.

Family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. on Saturday December 7, 2019 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, (Clancy Funeral Home) 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Burial will be private and at a later date.
