Obituary of Linda Northrop

Linda “Grammy” Northrop 79 of Hamden passed away peacefully on March 2, 2020 at CT Hospice in Branford. She was born August 15, 1940 in Brooklyn to Dominic and Amelia (Palumbo) Cesare. Linda is survived by her loving husband, Taylor Northrop and children; Michael Ader (Jennie) of Hamden, Lori Rewis (Joseph) of Melbourne, FL., Jodi Ader-Lopez (Willy) of Hamden along with six grandchildren who she adored, Joseph Ader, Kaitlyn Rewis (Michael Barrozo), Kory Rewis, Will Lopez, Alfredo Lopez and Amelia Lopez and one great grandson, Leo Lopez. She is preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter and a brother, Anthony Cesare. Linda affectionately known as “Grammy” by her family was a CNA most of her working life, she shared many stories with family members related to her patients during her home nursing visits. In 1984 she met her soul mate Taylor. They married in 1987 enjoyed many wonderful memories together. Linda was a lifelong New York Yankees fan. She loved the beach and even enjoyed many years as a Florida snowbird with her husband Taylor, brother, Anthony and sister-in-law Marie. In her free time Linda enjoyed painting and visiting the casinos. Not only did she like to play the penny slots, she enjoyed the shows and restaurants. Most of all Linda enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. Especially dear to her heart were her grandchildren and her great grandchild, all of whom she loved selflessly. Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a Memorial Mass on Friday, March 6, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, 2819 Whitney Ave., Hamden CT 06518. Burial will be private. Cremation services are under the care of the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Grammy will be missed dearly. The impact she made on the lives she touched will not be forgotten. We love you Lots Grammy. Rest in Peace.
