Obituary of Margaret Mansfield

Please share a memory of Margaret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sorrow that the family of Margaret "Peg" Mansfield announce her passing on the afternoon of September 11, 2020 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was fifty-eight years old. She is survived by her two siblings, five children, and two grandchildren. As an artist, a singer, an entrepreneur, and a scholar, Peg lived her life bringing joy and light to everyone she met. Her enduring charm and gregarious spirit made everyone she encountered an instant friend. Beloved by so many throughout the New Haven area, she could have easily run for mayor. Her talent as a singer and artist cannot be overstated. As an entertainer, she spent decades bringing music and fun to the New Haven and Shoreline community. More than anything, she treasured her family and her role as a mother, sister and grandmother. Her flame will forever burn brightly through the many lives she touched. Her kindness, respect, and empathy were evident in all she did, including her work with unhoused and disabled communities in the New Haven area. Her contributions to this world are truly innumerable. She gave everything of herself to others. A devout and lifelong Catholic, she will be laid to rest at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven, CT, following a private ceremony.
