Obituary of Lionel Boyd

Lionel Boyd 70 of New Haven passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 30, 2021 in New Haven. He was born April 22, 1951 in Kershaw, South Carolina to Frank and Alice (Jones) Boyd. Lionel is survived by his mother, Alice, loving wife, Eileen Reynolds of New Haven and five daughters, Monique Pagnucco (Jennifer) of Middlefield, Nakia Bridges (Michael) of Maryland, Alicia Reynolds of New Haven, Kristina Reynolds of Maryland and Jasmine Reynolds (Raymond Jones) of West Haven along with seven grandchildren, Jace Pagnucco, Nylah Durham, Raymond Jones, Rayna Jones, Zoe Bridges, Mia Bridges and Rhys Bridges. Lionel is also survived by his brother, Clifton Boyd (Sharon) of St. Thomas and nephews, Timothy Boyd of Wallingford, Rajaee Boyd of Georgia and Taj Boyd of Georgia. He is preceded in death by his dad and three siblings, Isaac Boyd, Evelyn Boyd and Terry Boyd. Lionel attended the Yale Summer Scholarship program in the early 70’s, and then went on to attend The University of Connecticut on a full scholarship. He was an avid reader and history enthusiast. Lionel also enjoyed drawing, exhibiting talent in capturing the human face. He was a gardener by heart. Lionel took the most pride in his five daughters. He continuously let them know how much they were loved and that their accomplishments filled his heart. Lionel loved the water and as it was a wish of his, will be put to rest in the ocean.
