Joseph Olsen 67, of East Haven passed away June 19, 2021 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born December 13, 1953 in New Haven to the late Wilburt and Jean (Palumbo) Olsen. Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Lynn (Thomson) Olsen and two children; William Olsen and Christina Olsen, both of East Haven. He is also survived by his two brothers, William Olsen (Julie) of North Branford and Robert Olsen (Donna) of Hamden along with nieces/nephew. Joseph was employed at Macy’s in New Haven for 18 years where he met his wife, Lynn. Then he worked at CT Hospice in Branford for 15 years. Joseph enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and pets. He loved going out to restaurants and made new friends wherever he went. Joseph put up a valiant battle against diabetes until the end. He was a kind, gentle man and was very proud of his family. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. His funeral procession will leave Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home on Thursday, June 24 at 11:40 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at Noon (12:00 PM) in St. John Bosco Parish at the Church of St. Mary, 731 Main Street, Branford CT. Committal to follow at St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford.
