Obituary of Olga Siano Buono

Olga Siano Buono 92 of New Haven passed away August 14, 2021 at St. Raphael Campus of Yale New Haven Hospital. She was born May 2, 1929 in Italy to Raffaele Siano and Maria (Di Martino) Siano. Olga is survived by her niece, Rita Rizza (Rick) of Milford, her sister, Fortunata Siano Falcone of Italy and a great niece, Marie Cleary Mathews (Stephen) and a great nephew, John A. Cleary (Aline) along with her great-great nieces/nephew, Alexandra Mathews, Christopher Mathews, Erin Mathews and Lauren Mathews. She is also survived by her step-nieces/nephew, Suzanne Vecchi, Kari Tuczynski (Tim) and Brian Rizza and many other nieces/nephews, great nieces/nephews and good friends. Olga is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dominic Buono, her companion, Ralph Savinelli and siblings, Marie Siano Laudano, Pantaleone Siano, Michelina Siano Lucibello, Raffaele Siano and Trofimena Siano Carrano. Olga immigrated to New Haven Connecticut in 1974 from Amalfi, Italy. She was employed by Sargent Lock and remained there for many years. She loved to cook, dance and to be around family and friends. In the summer months she enjoyed the beach and gardening which culminated with a crop of figs and canning tomatoes. Her heart never left Amalfi but she worked hard at blending into America. Family will receive mask wearing friends on Wednesday August 18, 2021 from 4 to 7 P.M. in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Her funeral procession will leave Clancy-Palumbo on Thursday at 10:45 A.M. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, 80 Taylor Ave., East Haven with Committal to follow at All Saints Cemetery.
