Bridget (Nastri) Mathews, 91 of East Haven passed away on October 9, 2021. She was born April 17, 1930 to Pasquale and Annunziata (Bounocore) Nastri. Bridget was the devoted wife of the late Raymond Mathews and loving mother of Nancy (Robert) Moriarty of Clinton, Bridget (Joseph) Larocque of San Carlos, CA and Raymond (Joanne) Mathews of Florida. Cherished grandmother of Robert (Amanda) Moriarty of Beacon Falls and Bridget (William) Roberts of Westbrook, Joseph (Jennifer) Larocque of San Carlos, CA , Elisa (Eric) Luban and Raymond Mathews of Florida. She was the loving great-grandmother to Zachery, Carly, Robert, Adam, Zoe, Brody, Macy, Colin, Roman, Remy, Mason and Josephine. Sister of Sarah Cerilli of East Haven and Pasquale Nastri Jr. of St. Augustine, FL and the late Marie Holland and Lillian Carboni. After retiring from the Hospital of St. Raphael, she worked 27 years at the East Haven Senior Center. Bridget’s life was blessed with a large and loving family. She treasured holiday and birthday celebrations and made those celebrations sweeter with her quiet presence and love. Family and friends are invite to meet and attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of St. Bernadette, 385 Townsend Ave., New Haven CT on Friday October 22, 2021 at 11 A.M. with burial to follow at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven. Funeral services are under the care of the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to: VNA Community Healthcare (Hospice Program)753 Boston Post Road, Guilford CT 06437. Please designate donations for the Hospice Program.
