Anthony “Tony” Aiello of East Haven passed away peacefully at home on January 24, 2022. He was born November 28, 1926 in New Haven to Gentile and Santina (Florio) Aiello. Tony is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Marie (Sciarra) Aiello and two loving daughters, Lori Aiello of East Haven and Debbie Lepage of Naugatuck. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kayla Lepage and Justin Lepage (Libby) of Kentucky, along with one great-granddaughter, Abigail “Abby” Lepage along with several nieces and nephews. Anthony is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Giacomo “Jack” Aiello. Tony was a Produce Manager for Grand Union for 30 years. Later in life he was a Security Guard for Yale University for 15 years. He loved sports, his favorite teams were the New York Yankees and Giants. He loved watching Westerns on TV, his favorite being Gunsmoke. Tony loved Dunkin Donuts coffee and made daily trips to the Hemingway Avenue location where everyone knew his name. More than anything, Tony loved his family most. His face would light up when he saw his great-granddaughter, Abby. His greatest joy was his children and grandchildren. He was the best husband, dad and grandpa. The family would especially like to thank the caregivers from No Place Like Home especially Nola, Seth, Marge, and Ann along with the VNA Hospice nurses and Donna. Mask wearing family and friends are invited to meet and attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday January 27, 2022 at 11 A.M. in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 80 Taylor Ave., East Haven with burial to follow at East Lawn Cemetery with full US Army Military Honors. All services are under the care of the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven.
