Karen Genovese 78 of North Haven, formerly of New Haven and East Haven passed away February 6, 2022 at CT Hospice. She was born May 23, 1943 in New Haven to the late Louis and Concetta (Perolla) Dest. She was also predeceased by her husband Guido Genovese in 1969. Karen is survived by her two loving children, Joseph (Patricia) Genovese of Branford and Nadia (Joseph) Podsiadlo of North Haven along with four grandchildren, Joey, Amanda, Nicholas Genovese and Joey Podsiadlo. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Nancy Butzky (Victor) of Florida, nephew Victor and niece Claudia. Karen loved the medical field and spent most of her career working with doctors in the area until her retirement. She loved nothing more than to spend time celebrating holidays, birthdays, and special occasions with her family and friends. She also had a love for rescued animals and cherished every moment with each one she adopted. Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 10 A.M. in St. Anthony Catholic Church, 70 Washington Street, New Haven. Burial will be private and under the care of the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Animal Haven, 88 Mill Road, North Haven CT 06473 or CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford CT 06405.
