Obituary of Marion Butler Cote

Marion Butler Cote of North Haven passed away on February 19, 2022. She was born June 30, 1935 in Akron Ohio to Donald and Margaret (Kelsey) Thomas. Marion is survived by her husband, John Cote and her children, Diane Ascenzia (John) of West Haven, Dodi Bavaro of West Haven, Debra D’Amato (Walter Radziszewski) of Branford and Dawn Murphy (James) of Kansas along with 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Barbara Roberts of East Haven, Donald Thomas (Margaret) of East Haven, Greg Thomas (BJ) of Guilford and numerous nieces/nephews. Marion is also survived by John’s children and their families, John Cote Jr. (Ann) of North Haven, David Cote (Ann) of Bethany, Renee Wozniak (Mark) of East Hampton and Kevin Cote (Tricia) of North Haven. She is preceded in death by her parents, great granddaughter, Maya Bautista-Murphy and a sister-in-law, Rosemary Cote. Marion, known to her family and friends as "Weezie", lived most of her life in CT. She moved to Fla. in 1981 where she work as a CNA for several years. She enjoyed boating, going to the Casino and was a big fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Tampa Bay Rays. Several years later she return to CT to spend time with her family and friends which made her very happy. Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 4 PM until the time of service at 6 PM in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Burial will be private.
