Rose (Mascia) Vece 98, of East Haven passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on May 15, 2022. She was born on January 14, 1924 in Carfizzi, Italy to Samuel and Filomena (Balsamo) Mascia. Rose is survived by her loving and devoted children, Rhonda DeLeon of East Haven and Joseph Vece Jr. (Lorrie) of Parsippany, NJ along with three grandchildren, Edwin “Junie” DeLeon, Kevin Vece, and Christine Zoino (Bert), her closest nephew, Joe Fonte (Leah) along with numerous other nieces/nephews. Rose is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joseph Vece Sr. (2005), granddaughter, Kaitlyn Vece, a sister, Mary Fonte, and a brother, Michael Mascia. Rose attended Whitney Secretarial School after Boardman Trade. She was a master seamstress with a wonderful eye for design. She was a member of St Johns First Friday Crusade. Rose loved her Italian Albëreschë heritage. Her faith and her family were above all. Her loving and genuine personality shined a light wherever she went, she will be missed. Family will receive mask wearing friends from 4 to 7 P.M. on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 A.M. in St. Anthony Catholic Church, 70 Washington Ave., New Haven with Committal to follow at Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven.
