Ralph V. Vuolo Sr., 77,of New Haven died suddenly on July 17th, 2022 at Yale-New Haven Hospital with his family by his side. Ralph was born in New Haven January 22, 1945 to Dominic and Gloria (Fruggiero) Vuolo Sr. Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Patricia “Jo” (Hines) Vuolo and children; Ralph Vuolo, Jr. of New Haven, Annmarie Giglietti (Marc) of East Haven, and Michael Vuolo (Janet) of Columbus, Ohio along with his grandchildren; Michael and Mark Vuolo, Chris, Nick, Olivia and Dominic Giglietti, all of East Haven. He is also survived by brothers, Dominic “Junie” Vuolo (Barbara) of Madison, CT and Anthony Vuolo (Janice) of Acton, Massachusetts. Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Gina Marie and a brother, Stephen Vuolo. Ralph grew up in the Fair Haven section of New Haven and attended Wilbur Cross High School where he lettered in baseball. He worked as a route salesman, most recently working for Superior Coffee until his retirement in 2012. Ralph was an avid sports fan who loved to watch all sports always watching his favorite teams...The San Francisco 49ers, UCONN women’s basketball, the New York Rangers, and especially the New York Yankees. He knew all the rules of almost any sport including basketball, football, hockey, golf, volleyball, soccer, track & field but mostly knew anything and everything about baseball. Ralph’s immense knowledge of baseball led him to coach his children at baseball and softball and when not coaching was at every game watching. He thoroughly enjoyed going to his grandchildren’s events. He would be seen at every one of their baseball, hockey, soccer, football, lacrosse games and dance recitals. He was so proud of all their accomplishments. He would drive or take the ride anywhere all around Connecticut, New England, New York, and beyond to see one of his grandchildren play a game. He had a natural, fun competitive spirit even when just playing cards or at family game nights.
