Doris Marie Welch,73, of New Haven, entered eternal rest on Wednesday September 7, 2022, at Yale New Haven Hospital. Doris was surrounded by her daughters and loved ones while listening to her one true love, Elvis Presely. Besides Elvis, she loved playing bingo, building puzzles and collecting elephants. She was greeted with open arms by her mother Jean (Noel) Fappiano and father John Fappiano. Her brothers were also there to greet her, John “Jackie” Fappiano, Richard Fappiano, Nicholas Fappiano and David Fappiano (Camille). Doris is survived by her three children, John D. Fappiano (Patricia), Edna Kripps (David Sr.) and Katherine Welch. Doris leaves behind eleven grandchildren, David J. Kripps II (Darion), John D. Fappiano Jr (Debra), Christian Welch, ShannonMarie Kripps (Benjamin), Kiara Mauirello, Angelica Fappiano, Gennaro Mauriello, Raffael Mauriello, Travis Fappiano, Allen Kripps, Vinny Fappiano. She also leaves behind seven great grandchildren, David J. Kripps III, Adyn Fappiano, Lilyanna Fappiano, Balthazar Kripps, Oliver Fappiano, Charlotte Yarrington, and Olivia Fappiano. Family and friends are invited to attend her Celebration of Life on Monday, September 12, 2022 at 5 P.M. at the Lighthouse Point Park (Beach area), 2 Lighthouse Rd., New Haven. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven CT 06512 c/o Edna Kripps to be used according to Doris Welch’s wishes.
