Ernest Macolino, 75, of Branford passed away April 10, 2023 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born January 20, 1948 in New Haven to Pasquale and Lucille (Constantinople) Macolino. Ernest is survived by his loving wife Patricia (Forslund) Macolino of Branford, a daughter, Tara Macolino of New Haven, step-daughter, Elissa Goclowski of Branford, step-son, Michael Goclowski (Kristin) of Branford and four grandchildren who lovingly called him "Poppy Mac", Briar Rose and Scarlett Goclowski, Jordyn and Callen Poundstone. He is also survived by two sisters, Patti Perez (Carl) of East Haven and Mary Azukas (Bob) of East Haven, niece, Melissa Richardson (Michael) of East Haven and a nephew, Robbie Azukas (Jen) of New Haven and several other nieces/nephews. He was a graduate of East Haven High School, served with US Army National Guard and was employed for many years as a truck driver, most recently with APA Trucking, belonging to Teamsters Local #443. He was a member of the Annex YMA, St. Mary Maddalena Society in New Haven, avid Yankee and Jets fan, and a HO Train enthusiast. ❤️ 19 Kisses ❤️ Family will receive friends on Friday, April 14, 2023 from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. All are invited to meet and attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, April 15 at 11 A.M. in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, 80 Taylor Ave., East Haven. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516 in memory of Ernest Macolino.
