Alice Landa 101 of East Haven passed away July 24, 2014. She was born January 2, 1913 in New Haven to Alexander and Lottie (Dombrowski) Ulatowski. She is preceded in death by parents, husband, Andrew Landa, sons, Thomas Landa and Robert Landa and son-in-law, James Surprenant. Alice is survived by two daughters, Virginia Kwieraga (Jim) and Carol Surprenant both of Durham. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and daughter-in-laws, Lisa Landa of Madison and Eileen Landa of SC. Alice was the last survivor of her immediate family. Alice enjoyed playing the piano and spending time at the East Haven Senior Center where she served as trip planner for over 30 years until she was 92.
Family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM on Tuesday, July 29 in Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Burial to follow at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN 38105 in memory of Alice Landa.
