Obituary of Lawrence Cifarelli

Lawrence “Larry” Cifarelli, 80, lifelong resident of East Haven (Foxon), passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 5, 2014. The beloved husband of 59 years to Sherry (Bolger) Cifarelli. Larry was born March 5, 1934 to the late Angelo and Lucy (Ciaburri) Cifarelli. He was retired with over 30 years of service from the City of New Haven as a bulldozer operator and was a third generation farmer. He always made everyone laugh and was rich with many friends. He leaves behind his seven loving children, Paula Franchi (Chris), Lucy Patricia Cifarelli, Lawrence A. Cifarelli Jr. (Beverly), Barbara Jean Cifarelli-Law (Billy), Sherry Apuzzo (Ken), John Cifarelli (Sissy), Joann Roca (Vinny). He was the proud “Pop” of sixteen grandchildren, Chris, Renée, Larry III, Kyle, Robert, George, Jacob, Mark, Macey, Alec, John II, Brittney, Lanie, Vinny, Joseph and Nicholas, four great –grandchildren; Lex, Maximus, Guy III and Molly. He leaves behind his brother, James Cifarelli (widow of Helen), nieces, nephews, dear friends and a very large extended family. Larry is predeceased by brothers, Andrew Cifarelli and John Cifarelli (Mable), a sister, Lucy Rubino. Family will receive friends from 8 – 11 AM on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral procession will leave Clancy Funeral Home at 11 am on Saturday, for an 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Pompeii Church, 355 Foxon Rd, East Haven. Committal to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Easter Seals Goodwill Industries, 432 Washington Ave., North Haven, Ct. 06473 in memory of Larry Cifarelli. His family was the joy of his life.
