Obituary of Noel Lambert

Noel Lambert, 70 (NHFD ret.) of New Haven, died peacefully at home on August 7, 2014. He was born September 28, 1943 in New Haven to the late Wilfred and Madeline (Fordham) Lambert. Noel is survived by loving wife of 40 years, Susan (Sroka) Lambert and two daughters, Elizabeth Ferrie (Robert) of North Haven and Katie Bellucci (Anthony) of New Haven. Noel is also survived by five cherished grandchildren, Nicholas and Ella Ferrie, Anthony, Benjamin, and Juliana Bellucci and a sister, Janet Spalding of New Haven. Noel was a long time member of St. Bernadette Parish, former Eucharistic Minister, carnival committee member and key man at the clam booth for twenty-five years. In 2002 he was presented with the Rev. Howard J. Nash Award at the parish awards dinner and in 1997 the Archdiocese of Hartford presented him with the HOPES Award. He retired as a Lieutenant from the New Haven Fire Department in 2004 after 37 years of service and receiving six Unit Citations. Noel was presented with a Medal of Merit for his role at a fire 1991. In 1996 he was honored by the Knights of St. Patrick as “Firefighter of the Year”. He was a member of the New Haven Fire Department American Legion Post #132, serving as an officer in several positions including Commander. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 pm on Sunday, August 10 at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral procession will leave Clancy Funeral Home on Monday at 10:15 am for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 in St. Bernadette Church, 385 Townsend Ave., New Haven, with Committal to follow at East Lawn Cemetery.
