Joseph “Joe” DeMaio, 85 of East Haven passed away November 5, 2014 at CT Hospice. He was born December 10, 1928, to James and Madelyn DeMaio. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Kathleen (Baker) DeMaio, sisters, Julia Amril, Frances Hines and Evelyn Smith. Joe is survived by three children; James DeMaio (Barbara) of East Haven, Paul DeMaio (Michelle) of East Haven and Phyllis Roche (James) of Melbourne, FL. Joe is also survived by four grandchildren; Francesca DeMaio, Paul DeMaio, Jr., Mark Roche and Matthew Roche, and a brother, James DeMaio (Helen) of Hamden. He was a retired truck driver with over 40 years of service with Teamsters Local 443.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 8:00 - 9:30 am at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral procession will leave Clancy Funeral Home at 9:40 am for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Clare Church, 234 Coe Ave., East Haven, with Committal to follow at East Lawn Cemetery.
