Josephine (Bagnasco) Imperati, 90 of New Haven passed away November 23, 2014 surrounded by her family at Whitney Manor. She was born June 13, 1924 in New Haven to Nicholas and Maria (DeMartino) Bagnasco. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Vincent Imperati and a brother, Frank Bagnasco. Josephine is survived by two children; Maria Henninger (David) of East Haven and James Imperati , four grandchildren; Steven DeMartino (Shannon), Christopher DeMartino (Lindsay), Kelly Marie DeMartino (companion, David Blakely), Jessa Imperati and three great grandchildren; Christina Marie DeMartino, Serena Rose DeMartino and Logan Christopher DeMartino and a sister, Mary Susi of New Haven. Josephine enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and traveling back to Italy. She volunteered at the East Haven Food Pantry and loved spending time with her family, which she adored.
Family will receive friends from 8:30 to 9:30 AM on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral procession will leave Clancy Funeral Home at 9:40 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Francis Church, Ferry Street, New Haven with Committal to follow at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven.
