Margaret Mary Poulton, 95, formally of East Haven currently residing in Killingworth passed away January 28, 2015 after a brief illness. She was born in Bronx, New York on September 8, 1919, to Augustine and Marquerite Schiavone. She is preceded in death by parents, husband, William J. Poulton, brothers, John Arnold, Joseph Arnold and Eugene Slone. Margaret, known as Peggy to her friends, leaves behind sons: William Poulton (Linda) of Muncy, PA, Richard Poulton (June) of East Haven, Gerald Poulton of Niantic and her sister-in-law Nancy Arnold of Guilford. After raising her children she went onto nursing school and worked at the Hospital of St. Raphael’s until her retirement in 1983. She then met George Everson and they were inseparable until his passing in 2005. They spent their years together on Pachaug Pond in Voluntown, CT and wintered in New Smyrna Beach, FL. Margaret did what she loved most, camping and traveling all over North America, thru-out Europe, saw the pyramids in Egypt, traveled into Russia, walked the Great Wall of China and made dear friends in South Africa. She also leaves behind George’s family, Richard Everson (Joann), Andy Everson, Jane Everson, Joyce Nadeau (Richard) and their children whom she considered all part of her family. She also leaves behind loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, along with nephews and their families. Family and friends are invited to meet at Clancy Funeral Home, on Saturday, April 11, 2015 for a 11:15 am service. Burial will follow at East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven. Funeral services are entrusted in the care of Clancy Funeral Home, East Haven. Contributions may be made to the New England Eye Center, C/O Dr. Johanna Seddon, 800 Washington St., #450, Boston, MA, 02111 or CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd, Branford, CT 06405 in memory of Margaret Poulton.
