Obituary of Arthur Ferraiolo

Arthur Ferraiolo, 70 of New Haven passed away January 29, 2015. He was born June 11, 1944 in New Haven to the late Frank and Mary Ferraiolo. Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Connie Gargiulo Ferraiolo and his four children: Pasquale Ferraiolo (Sarah) of Naugatuck, Donna Gambardella of Branford, Laura Ferraiolo of Branford and Arthur Ferraiolo Jr. (Christina) of Northford, his grandchildren: Rachel Ferraiolo, Lucas Ferraiolo, Ava Ferraiolo, Kristen Gambardella, Anthony Ferraiolo and Gianni Ferraiolo, and a brother, Felix "Sonny" Ferraiolo (Ann) of North Haven. Arthur is also survived by four step-children: Cheryl Savakis (Milton) of Hamden, Eugene Gargiulo (Cathy) of Killingworth, Steven Gargiulo (Kathy) of San Diego, Michelle Osipowicz (David) of New Hartford, and 13 step-grandchildren. Arthur was a hard-working, devoted family man who found joy and had great pride in his family. His tremendous love for his family was always felt, especially that for his grandchildren. As co-owner of Ferraiolo's Food Shop, he was well-known and loved for the 25 years that he faithfully served his community. The local kids enjoyed him as a little league coach for many years. He was also a drummer and a drum instructor. Most recently he enjoyed his membership at the Italian-American Club in Branford spending time with good friends and playing bocce. Family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, February 4th at 10:00 am in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Taylor Ave., East Haven. Burial will be private. Donations may be made to Special Olympics, c/o North Haven Team, 2666 State Street, Hamden, CT 06517 in memory of Arthur Ferraiolo.
