Obituary of Lillian Josephson

Lillian Josephson 87 of East Haven passed away February 7, 2015 at The Village at Mariner’s Point. She was born September 23, 1927 in New Haven to Albert and Anastasia (McGrail) Griffiths. She is preceded in death by parents, husband, Nils Josephson (1996), brothers, James, Richard and Albert Griffiths, sisters, Margaret Fromhartz and Evelyn Aldridge. Lillian is survived by five loving children; Diane Saffioti (Louis) of Greensboro, NC, Janet Maru (Joseph) of Clifton Park, NY, Donna Josephson of Southbury, Carl Josephson (Laura) of Wallingford and Christina Burgess (Robert) of Branford. Lillian is also survived by ten grandchildren; Michael Saffioti (Weslie), Robert Saffioti (Allee), Christopher Saffioti (fiancée, Elizabeth), Paul Maru, Kristen Corkery (John), Carl “CJ” Josephson Jr., Alex Josephson, Dale Josephson, Michael Burgess, Carley Burgess and one great granddaughter, Allie Saffioti. Lillian was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Affectionately known to many by the name "Coo Coo." Lillian worked for the Branford VNA with over 27 years of service as a dedicated caregiver. Family will receive friends from 4 – 7 PM, Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral procession will leave Clancy Funeral Home on Thursday, February 12 at 9:40 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Taylor Ave., East Haven with Committal to follow at Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven.
