Barbara Palmer, 80, of East Haven, formerly from New Haven passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at CT Hospice. Barbara is survived by her loving family, daughters, Barbara Raffile (Paul) of Wallingford, Mary Marquis (Gerard) of East Haven, sons, James Palmer (Sandy) of Hudson, New Hampshire, Robert Palmer (Christine) of East Haven, Daughter-in-law Eileen Palmer of Newtown. Barbara was also survived by her grandchildren whom she adored, Paul, Jennifer, Amanda, Stephen, Ryan, Trevor and Kim, sisters, Shirley Cacace of East Haven and Beatrice O’Neil, of New Mexico, her extended family Sharon Wright (Harvey) of Meriden, children John and Pamela and their families, along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Palmer, sons, Harry Palmer Jr. and John Palmer, sister, Dorothy Belous and parents James and Mary (Parrot) Breen. Barbara cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, the family pets, warm summer afternoons by the water, a day out with her sister Shirley, and holidays with family. She also enjoyed reading and was an avid UCONN basketball fan. Family will receive friends on Saturday, March 7, 2015 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral service and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to Connecticut Branford Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405 or the charity of one’s choice.
