Richard Rutledge 69 of East Haven passed away March 26, 2015 at CT Hospice. He was born October 4, 1945 in New Haven to Anthony and Mary (Huber) Rutledge. He is preceded in death by parents and son, Bryan Rutledge. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Grace (Cifarelli) Rutledge, daughter, Mary Jarmie (Albert) of Northford, three grandchildren, Connor, Aubrey and Logan Jarmie, a sister, Suzanne Rutledge of Colchester and mother-in-law, Reba Cifarelli. Richard was a proud patriot and a U.S. Navy veteran. Prior to his illness Richard was employed as an H.V.A.C mechanic. In his spare time he loved to bowl and tinker at his home workshop doing woodworking. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed his antique 1968 Chevrolet. But what he cherished most were his children and grandchildren of which he was extremely proud of. Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all, he will be fondly remembered. Family will receive friends from 2-5 PM on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral procession will leave Clancy Funeral on Monday, March 30 at 9 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church (Route 80), East Haven, with Committal to follow at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven with full military honors. Donations may be made to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405 in memory of Richard Rutledge.
