Obituary of Francis Carroll

Francis Carroll Jr. 92 of Wallingford and Branford passed away April 19, 2015 at St. Raphael Hospital. He was born March 8, 1923 in Wallingford to Francis Sr. and Frances (Stevenson) Carroll. He is preceded in death by parents and three sisters; Jean Holloway, Harriet Stacey and Nancy Bossidy. Francis is survived by loving wife of over 65 years, Jean (Spaulding) Carroll and three children; Dean Carroll (Josue) of Chincoteague, Virginia, Janis Carroll of Meriden and Jodie Jerzyk (Brook) of Madison. Francis is also survived by nine grandchildren; Morgan Ross (Kenny), Gavin Butler, Timothy Butler, Katherine Butler, Kimberly Jerzyk, Courtney Jerzyk, Kirsten Jerzyk, Kendall Jerzyk, Clayton Jerzyk and three great grandchildren; RJ Ross, Rachael Ross and Cooper Prodoti and a sister, Ruth Connell (Tom) of Colorado Springs, CO. Francis graduated from Lyman Hall High School in 1941. He was a proud US Marine Corp veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He later retired from Pratt and Whitney with over 25 years of service. He was a member of Compass Lodge # 9, the American Legion, Civil Air Patrol of Wallingford and V.F.W Post 2096 of Madison. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and marched in every patriotic parade. A true gentleman and patriot who deeply loved his family and country. Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 11 AM in First Congregational Church, 26 Meetinghouse Lane, Madison, CT. Military Honors will follow the service at the church. Burial will be private at the VA Cemetery in Middletown. All services are in the care of Clancy Funeral Home, East Haven.
