Obituary of Judith Corso

Judith “Judy” Corso 71 of East Haven passed away April 22, 2015 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was born February 2, 1944 in New Haven to Lawrence and Helen (Landon) Joyce. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Barbara Larson and brothers, Paul and Lawrence Joyce. Judy is survived by loving husband, Joseph Corso, two children; Jody Corso of East Haven and Anthony Corso (Naomi) of Meriden and three grandchildren; Hannah Corso, Molly Corso and Max Corso; and Judy’s companion dog Hayden. Judy is also survived by four siblings; Wallace Joyce of North Haven, Joan Hubbard of Clinton, Patricia Haroskewicz of West Haven, Lauren Hopwood (Peter) of VT, and numerous nieces and nephews. Judy was an amazing woman. She was an extremely generous person and always tried her very best to help a friend or family... She was loyal to her family and friends. She loved to laugh and visit with friends. Her sense of humor was legendary. She fiercely loved her husband, her children, grandchildren and her beloved dogs especially Hendra who predeceased her by five days. She was an avid collector and enjoyed auctions and antique shows. One of her favorite things was to search for seashells along the beach in Florida. The holidays were always a big celebration. She did everything from start to finish and always whistled as she worked. She will always be remembered as a fabulous cook. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Family will receive friends from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral procession will leave Clancy Funeral Home on Monday, April 27 at 9:45 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Taylor Ave., East Haven with Committal to follow at Alder Brook Cemetery in Guilford.
